Sheltair opens a hangar at Savannah-Hilton Head International Airport

Sheltair has opened a new 30,000-square-foot hangar at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV).

This new facility is a multi-million-dollar investment, used to enhance the Sheltair SAV award-winning FBO facility services. The hangar will open up additional aircraft storage for the area.

“At Sheltair we are focused on investing in new facilities to better serve the general aviation industry across our network,” Sheltair COO Todd Anderson said. “This hangar expansion will allow us to accommodate Savannah’s growing business sector while actively participating in the long-term economic development of the airport and the community.”

The new hangar space has 28-foot-tall doors, made to accommodate larger newer aircraft like the Gulfstream G650 and Global 7000. This project was $5.5 million and is now ready to support aircraft and transient operators in the area. The project broke ground under a year ago and is equipped to handle the next generation of aircraft.

“We greatly appreciate Sheltair’s decision to once again invest millions of more dollars in aviation development here at our airport,” Executive Director of Savannah Airport Commission, Greg Kelly, said. “We are fortunate to have a great partnership with them as they are one of the top FBOs in the Country. We look forward to continued success and growth with Sheltair in the years to come.”

The new building is ready for tours and hangar leases.
