The Latam Group is investing about $29 million in new and upgraded airport lounges in Lima, Peru; Bogotá, Colombia; and São Paulo, Brazil, the company announced Thursday.
“In the coming months,” Latam plans to open a new lounge at Lima’s Jorge Chávez Airport, where it has invested $10.5 million. The 2,450-sq.-meter lounge will feature two spaces—Signature and Premium—and share a reception area. There will be seating for more than 400 guests.
With an $18 million investment, Latam is designing a new space at São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport in Terminal 3 that is scheduled to open in 2027. It is planned to span 4,700 square meters, making it the group’s largest in Latin America, according to Latam.
In February, Latam began remodeling its lounge at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá with an investment of $500,000. The upgraded space will seat 136 guests and have a total area of 650 square meters.
The lounge renovations include 100 percent electrical connectivity at seating areas, common spaces designed for work, individual work pods, upgraded rest areas with more, stretching rooms and bars, according to Latam.
Latam’s Signature lounges are accessible to passengers with Black Signature or Black status in the carrier’s loyalty program, as well as for those in business class. Premium lounges are for passengers with Platinum status and those traveling in premium economy, regardless of their status. Other Latam lounges are accessible to passengers with Black Signature, Black or Platinum status, as well as those in business or premium-economy class, regardless of their status, according to Latam.
