Before his time at Gulfstream, Flynn managed FBOs as VP with Stevens Aviation and also served as the Regional Vice President and GM at AMR Combs. He was a lead factor in Gulfstream winning the Collier Trophy in 2014.

He was inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation in 2020. Even after his retirement, Flynn held multiple advisory roles until his passing, including a position as an Advisory Board member at Duncan Aviation and Heads Up Technologies.
