CAE opens first BizAv training center on U.S. West Coast

CAE opened its newest aviation training center and the first on the U.S. West Coast, in Clark County near the Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).
The facility is 50,000 square feet and has the capacity for up to eight full flight simulators (FFS) and seven are already in operation for the Bombardier Global 7500, Gulfstream G650, G550, GIV, GV and Embraer ERJ145. The Phenom 300E simulator is being used at the new training facility and will expand Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) joint venture to seven Phenom 300 simulators globally.
CAE’s Las Vegas location began operations in October 2022 and added much-needed business aviation training capacity in the region and helped to meet the demand for business jet pilots. The milestone was celebrated at an event at the new training center where the company welcomed customers, employees, partners government officials and industry representatives to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by CAE President and CEO Marc Parent.
“The inauguration of CAE Las Vegas is another significant milestone in the expansion of our business aviation training network, bringing CAE closer to customers on the West Coast and beyond,” Parent said. “Offering a strategic location, an attractive business environment, and a highly specialized workforce, Nevada is the perfect location for CAE’s first West Coast business aviation training center. We are proud to officially call the Silver State home, and we are grateful to Nevadans for their support and warm welcome.”
CAE has created over 75 skilled and well-paying jobs in Nevada. The company’s broader portfolio is in alignment with Nevada’s electric and innovative future. Over the next decade, CAE expects to add over $220 million in economic value to the region.
The company’s investment has established a new state-of-the-art facility with its simulator technology. Business aviation customers will have complete access to CAE’s industry-leading technology and training expertise at the center, improving safety and efficiency. Training programs through the center will combine methodologies, instructor knowledge and advanced simulation technology. The facility will train over 2,500 pilots annually to help grow the U.S. pilot workforce and address the business aviation training demand.
