The Boeing 777X landed in Hawaii to complete testing at the Kona International Airport (KOA).
The new model, expected to be ready for service in 2025, is designed to seat 426 passengers. The model 777-9 is longer, wider and has a ten percent lower operating cost. The plane has better aerodynamics, with a folding wingtip, an unconstrained wing and laminar flow nacelles.
KHON2 reported the exciting event, stating that Boeing had said crews ran tests to ensure safety, reliability and performance. The plane is now back home in Seattle, but the time in sunny Hawaii was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved.
Boeing said the 777X will be the world’s largest and most fuel-efficient twin-engine jet. The new model offers green features like ten percent lower fuel use and emissions.
The 777-9 has a range of 7,285 nautical miles and runs 251 feet and nine inches in length. The $442.2 million plane offers a twin aisle for its up to 426 passengers and provides a spacious and comfortable flight experience.
According to Boeing, the plane already has hundreds of orders from airlines across the globe. The wide cabin and custom architecture and innovations from the 787 Dreamliner, will make the 777X the new contender on the market.
