Sometimes wishes do come true, and with the help of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Airlines, The Walt Disney Company and The Points Guy, 27 children battling a critical illness will have get the chance to make theirs become a reality. The children and their families will board The Best Flight Ever and fly from New York to Orlando to take fulfill their wishes to go to the Walt Disney World Resort on April 12.
The Best Flight Ever is a memorable experience provided by American Airlines and The Points Guy, also known as Brian Kelly. There will be interactive games, snacks and surprises on board the flight. Live entertainment includes Michael James Scott, who stars as the Genie on ALADDIN on Broadway, hosting a sing-along with the kids and their families.
“As a lover of travel, long-time supporter of Make-A-Wish, and firm believer in using travel as a force for good, I’m thrilled to be hosting The Best Flight Ever alongside Make-A-Wish, American Airlines, and Disney,” Kelly said. “Travel has the power to enrich lives, and I’m honored to be working with these brands to share the joy of travel with so many deserving children and families.”
Kelly runs a media platform that focuses on the maximization of every travel experience while minimizing spending. The Points Guy offers a clear point of view on travel topics like points and miles. He will serve as the onboard emcee during the flight experience.
Make-A-Wish was built and shaped by volunteers, fundraisers, advocates and donors. The Best Flight Ever experience will begin with a pre-flight celebration at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) with a breakfast bar and send-off. The flight will land at the Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the children and families will be greeted by the cheers of volunteers and staff awaiting their arrival.
They will enjoy a reception at the Give Kids The World Village where they will stay for six days and five nights while enjoying their trip. The children have all wished to visit Walt Disney World and will get an experience they will never forget. Make-A-Wish and Disney have granted over 145,000 wishes like this since 1980.

In order to fulfill travel wishes for children every year, Make-A-Wish needs almost three billion airline miles and points. The points and miles become a critical resource to make the wishes of critically ill children come to fruition. American Airlines has been the foundation’s longest-standing airline partner, donating chartered aircraft and millions of AAdvantage Miles yearly for wish travel.

The Make-A-Wish foundation was formed after a community came together to make the wish of one seven-year-old boy battling leukemia come true in 1980. The Phoenix community let young Christopher James Grecius have his dream of being a police officer and this led to the formation of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The foundation, co-founded by Christopher’s mother Linda Pauling, granted the first official wish in 1981, to Frank “Bopsy” Salazar, another seven-year-old boy battling leukemia who spend the day with the Phoenix Fire Department.
World Wish day is on April 29 and Make-A-Wish chapters and affiliates across the globe come together leading up to the big day. The Best Flight ever, taking place on April 12, is another example of the strong impact communities can make when they unite to make wishes come true. A wish is granted in the U.S. and its territories every 34 minutes, giving these critically ill kids a reason to believe in the impossible and putting a bit of magic back into their lives. The Best Flight Ever will give 27 kids a reason to believe again and an experience that they and their families will never forget.
