Foreflight acquires CloudAhoy, a post-flight debriefing software provider

Foreflight, a Boeing Company, has acquired CloudAhoy, a provider of post-flight debriefing, analytics and flight operations quality assurance (FOQA) software products for flight training, business, general and military aviation pilots and operators.
The acquisition will strengthen Foreflight’s data analytics tools and services and enable a seamless digital ecosystem, stretching to all phases of flight. Foreflight’s Track Log already supports the exporting of recorded flights to view in other apps, like CloudAhoy. This allows customers to unlock more value for their existing track log collection when using ClouAhoy.
“CloudAhoy’s advanced capabilities and products will complement and integrate nicely into our existing digital portfolio, and we are excited for CloudAhoy and its employees to join our team,” ForeFlight CEO Tim Schuetze said. “Recording and debriefing flights has been a staple of ForeFlight for years, and CloudAhoy’s software will enable even deeper post-flight analysis of every flight.”
Foreflight’s award-winning Sentry and Sentry Plus ADS-B receivers can record additional flight metrics like altitude and g-load. This can provide CloudAhoy with more efficient flight data for a more informative analysis.

As part of Boeing Global Service’s digital solutions business, Foreflight’s acquisition of CloudAhoy brings the company into Boeing’s larger strategy to continue building capabilities to support a range of customer needs in the present and future, according to Brad Surak, VP of Digital Aviation Solutions, Global Services.
