Bombardier announces opening of London Biggin Hill Service Center
The inauguration of Bombardier’s London Biggin Hill Service Center was announced this week. The new addition to the company’s global customer service network is located at the London Biggin Hill Airport.
The facility is nearly 250,000 square feet and has an added suite of new maintenance and modification capabilities, as well as a full-service interior finishing capacity for Learjet, Global and Challenger aircraft. A new hangar features 22 service bays and is spacious enough to accommodate 14 Global 7500 aircraft simultaneously.
New amenities include the largest business-jet MRO facility in the UK, which will provide customers with maintenance capabilities, a paint shop and wheel and battery shops. Expanding from eight to 22 service bays, the enhanced facility will increase London Biggin Hill’s on-site capacity to handle large aircraft.
“With the expansion of the London Biggin Hill Service Centre, we are taking another step in showcasing our unwavering commitment to our European customers with industry-leading services on a global scale – OEM expertise that customers demand and expect from Bombardier,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Services and Support, and Corporate Strategy. “The European market is a very important one for Bombardier and this expansion perfectly underscores our ongoing commitment to the region, allowing us to be closer to our customers and offering them even more world-class services and support.”
The new changes and service center will allow for more than 250 new employees and the expectation of increasing this number as demands increase.
This expansion follows new facilities opening in Mimi and Melbourne, as well as the expansion of the service center in Singapore.

“London Biggin Hill Airport is in a strategic location for business aviation operators – and we are thrilled that Bombardier is committed to its long-term relationship here,” Biggin Hill Commercial Director Robert Walters said. “Bombardier has been a tremendous collaborator and we will continue to work closely together as a leading center for aviation technology and innovation and as a catalyst for business aviation growth in the region.”
Bombardier took an environmental approach in the design, installing solar panels and electrical charging stations and continuing with a commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
JETEX was announced as the preferred FBO provider for the service center. Concierge services will be offered on-site.
Bombardier has worked with programs in the UK in the past, developing a 36-month program with UK training leader Marshall Centre, which provides relevant jobs in the region.
