Alliance Airport announces new FBO facility and name change

Hillwood and Alliance Aviation Services has announced the upcoming unveiling of a new FBO facility at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW). As Alliance Airport grows, so will all aspects of its involvement in business aviation operations. This larger and enhanced facility will accommodate all crews and guests, as a continuation of the Alliance Aviation Service’s 30-year legacy. In its time, Alliance Aviation has provided award-winning support services to general and corporate aviation, as well as military and air cargo operations.

The new space was designed by Corgan Architects and Amaze Design and is scheduled to be completed in December.

Along with 20,000 square feet of high-end lounges and meeting facilities, an additional 68,000 square feet of hangar space will be added. Alliance Aviation Services will have six hangars, providing about 200,000 square feet of space to accommodate its fleet.

In addition to the new buildings, the current features of the existing FBO services will be expanded. More space will allow for additional first-class accommodations for flight crews and spacious lounges for pilots and passengers.

“The new FBO at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport uniquely positions us for the growing demand for an elite, private flying experience,” the president of Alliance Aviation Companies, Christian Childs, said. “Pilots and passengers will soon have access to expanded amenities and the highest level of customer service they’ve become accustomed to over the years.”

Alliance Airport features flight services like air cargo, corporate and government aviation and serves as a cornerstone for the 27,000-acre AllianceTexas development. After a collaborative effort between Hillwood, the city of Fort Worth and the FAA, the airport is now an integral part of the AllianceTexas Mobility Innovation Zone. This zone includes FedEx Southwest Regional Sort Hub and Amazon Air Regional Hub.

Alliance Airport was ranked by the FAA as one of the top 20 U.S. Air Cargo Airports, having moved over 2.4 billion pounds of cargo in 2021, a 45.75% volume increase from the previous year. In 2020, Alliance was named World Fuel Rewards Top 10 Best by Air Elite and recognized as the number one Air Elite Diamond Location and Air Elite Diamond Service Location of the Year in 2018.

After Fort Worth City Council and FAA approval, Alliance was renamed Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport. Hillwood has plans to host an event in December to show off the new facility and celebrate the name change, honoring the legacy of H. Ross Perot.
